Old PV panels removed safely. Downstream to PV Industries for material recovery. Per-panel certificate of recovery.
Australia is on track for 1 million tonnes of end-of-life solar panel waste by 2035. The federal $24.7M Solar Panel Recycling Pilot is live from mid-2026, and Junkbird is positioned as a collection partner with downstream relationships to PV Industries and Sircel.
We collect panels, log frame and cell condition, and route each panel through the recovery chain. Glass, aluminium frames, copper interconnects and silicon all go back into the materials economy.
Pricing is per volume of the truck, not by item count. Final price is confirmed by the crew on arrival, before any work begins.
| Load size | Indicative price (incl. GST) | Typical job |

| Commercial roof decommission | Quoted on site | Whole-system removal |
| Pallet of panels (~24 units) | $500 – $700 | Stored, ready for pickup |
Mid-2026 — the $24.7M Solar Panel Recycling Pilot was announced 16 January 2026 by the federal Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water. Junkbird is positioned as a service partner.

We collect at ground level from a stack ready for pickup. For rooftop removal, your solar installer handles the takedown — we collect from the property after they're done.
Yes — damaged panels are bunded for safe transport. Inform us up-front so the crew brings the right containment.
We partner with AS/NZS 5377 certified downstream processors. Our own AS/NZS 5377 certification at our Phase 1 site is in flight via Compass Assurance Services.
